Due to the specialty of the reader group of Children's Literature,a very high expectation is set upon its translators. That is to say,the translator has to be loyal to the original work, and at the same time, makes his version readable and lovable. So,in the process of translating, the translator sometimes has to forget his role as a servant to the original; instead,he has to carry out some intentional minstransltion and creative treason. This article takes the Chinese version of Charlotte's Web from Ren Rongrong—a master translator of Children's Literature—as a case in point to illustrate the fact that intentional mistranlation and creative treason to some degree are both necessary and indispensable.
