The science education in Massachusetts is distinctive and has the advantage over other states in America. After the promulgation of NGSS, the latest Massachusetts Draft Revised Science and Technology/ Engineering Standards were published in 2013. Based on the old standards and NGSS, the content and structure of the draft revised science standards have been changed, the major shifts have embodied main characteristics of the STE education reform in Massachusetts and the whole nation, which included integration of disciplinary core ideas and practices, emphasis of science and technology/engineering concepts and practices progress coherence from Pre-K to high school, preparation for post-secondary success in college and careers and so forth. The major shifts and characteristics of the revised draft, reflecting the future developing tendency of Massachusetts and American science education (or STE education), is worth using for reference.
