Homestay Development of Traditional Dwelling Houses in Shanxi Province

山西古村落古民居众多,窑洞式、大院式、城堡式民居建筑是山西乡村建筑的典型。近年来随着城市化发展,乡村合并及搬迁,乡村聚落空壳化,留下众多保存完好的乡村特色民居建筑。政府、企业、个人出于保护和开发古村落的目的,对古民居进行整修,开发民宿类旅游住宿产品。民宿的发展使古民居重新恢复活力。

There are a lot of ancient villages and traditional dwelling houses in Shanxi province, among which many cave-style,courtyard-style and castle-style houses are typical representation of Shanxi＇s rural architecture. In recent years, with the development of urbanization, consolidation and relocation of villages as well as rural emptiness of farmers, there are a large number of well-preserved rustic residential buildings. In order to protect and develop these ancient villages, governmental authorities, enterprises and individuals have rehabilitated these traditional dwelling houses, and developed them into tourism accommodation product. The development of the renovated homestays has revived the traditional dwelling houses.
