Some Philosophical Thinking about the Nature and Theme of the Times

当今时代是从资本主义向社会主义过渡的时代;和平与发展取代战争与革命成为时代主题,并没有改变当今世界的主要矛盾,因而没有改变时代性质。我们应该牢记时代主题,莫忘时代性质,在谋求和平与发展的斗争过程中,始终不忘以社会主义代替资本主义的斗争目的。

The present era is an age of alternation between capitalist and socialist systems, a transition age from capitalism to socialism. Peace and development rather than wars and revolutions have become the theme of the times, but have not yet changed the main contradiction of the world, thus the nature of the times does not change, too. We must clearly remember the theme and nature of the times, and do not forget the struggling aim throughout in the process of peace and development.
