Railway cargo inspection plays an important role in ensuring the safety and security of freight transportation. With an elaboration on the current cargo inspection practices at Xuzhou North Railway Station, this paper finds existing problems, such as inadequate utilization of inspection equipment, poor specialization and imperfect management processes. The paper psoposes some measures to improve the station＇s performance, include making full use of the equipment, optimizing the management, developing SOPs, motivating the inspectors and strengthening the coordination among everyone involved.
