西夏时期设有制金司、织绢院、铁工院、木工院、纸工院、砖瓦院、造车院等部门,工艺美术品门类齐全,品种繁多,技艺高超,文化内涵深厚。文章试图从西夏工艺美术的纹饰、造型和色彩三个方面,探究其所体现的民族特征。

There had been many departments in Xixia Dynasty, such as departments of making gold,weaving silk , making iron, making wood, making paper, producing bricks, making cars and so on. It hadacomplete range of skillful and profound arts and crafts. The article intends to explore its national characteristicfrom ornamentation, modelling and colour aspects.
