Twentieth century is the century of revolution, and even having no great revolutionary deeds,Yang Ziyuan shows his revolutionary views in his opera creations and his Legend of New Tibet in particular.In this zaju, he eulogizes the republic, and supports the “Provisional Constitution” ; he also attacks thenorthern and southern warlords, and advocates Tibetan social reforms which is in accordance with the era andshows his consciousness of beinga revolutionary.
