Smart clothing presentsa promising future for better quality of life, health and well-being. It draws greatattention and investment from many organizations in different fields. Like any other technological product, one of thecritical aspects with regard to the development of Smart clothing is the analysis of design needs, which varies fromconventional ones. This paper examines the design needs in the context of smart clothing for healthcare, and provides 13key needs. The work of this study can be utilized to guide the design, development and evaluation of smart clothing.
