王闿运的"通经"观注重发挥《春秋》经义,讲求通经致用,经学自治依循修齐治平的传统思维。王闿运的"治事"观即领悟经典之道以外的实践能事。王闿运重视"通经",认为"治事"不如"通经",但在"通经"与"治事"中也十分注重作为桥梁作用的"为学"。
