大学图书馆是构成现代大学必不可少的"身体组件",大学图书馆的使命与大学的使命具有内在一致性。随着阅读推广理念在全社会的风靡和建构,大学图书馆的职能和使命得到了全新的描述与阐释。新形势下大学图书馆的使命主要表征为:图书馆服务与教学科研相统一;技术进步与人文关怀相统一;服务大学与服务社会相统一。

The university library is an essential "body components" for the modern university. The missions of the library are consistent with those of the university. As the reading concept has become more and more popular and has been constructed in the whole society, the functions and missions of the university library have been completely updated. In such a new context, the missions of the university library are mainly characterized by three combinations: the combination of services, teaching and research; the combination of technological progress and humanistic care; and the combination of serving the university and serving the society.
