Hermit Thoughts Revealed in the American Literary Works Described Small Towns

作为美国小镇文学的典型代表,怀尔德的戏剧《我们的小镇》蕴含着较深层的民族隐逸思想。戏剧以我们的小镇来喻指美利坚合众国这个大的民族团体,但在戏剧的台词话语与结构叙事中却深藏着隐逸的深层次的集体心理或称为集体无意识,即小、退、隔和静的表征。

As a typical example of small-town literature,Wilde＇s drama Our Town possesses a deep national hermit thought.The narrative structure of Our Town has a deeper collective mentality or collective unconsciousness which is so called hermit thought. That is characterized by the features of small,retreat,isolation and peace. Small means the small in area and in population,in the meantime,it also refers to small common characters. Retreat means to trace back historically to define one＇s historical identity. Isolation excludes the interruption from outside,limited in a small town. Peace means the quiet life cycle in small town living.
