Mao Zedong and the Council of the Shaan-Gan-Ning Border Region

陕甘宁边区是全国首席解放区,也是全国民主运动的发源地。中国共产党直接领导下的边区参议会则是边区实行民主政治的主要组织形式。中国共产党领袖毛泽东高度重视边区参议会,每次会前均作了极为详尽的指示,认真准备会议文件,并莅临每次参议会发表讲演,及时提出任务,指明今后奋斗的方向。边区参议会的巨大成就与模范作用给全国人民带来了希望,为共产党赢得了民心。

The Shaan-Gan-Ning Border Region,the first liberated area,is the birth place for China’s democratic movement. The Council of the Border Region under the direct leadership of the Party was an important organization for exercising democracy in the region. Mao Zedong attached great importance to this institution,and gave detailed directives each time before it convened,carefully prepared the paperwork,attended it and gave speeches on the occasion,defining tasks and goals for the future. The achievements and exemplary role made by the Council brought about hope for the Chinese people and won the Party popularity from the people.
