Man is Born as Political Animals: On Ancient Greek City-state Political Community

与此前漫长的统一王权相比,古希腊城邦表现为一种以公民为主体的政治体制。然而,从更为深远的角度看,城邦共同体不仅是政治意义上的,更成为人理解自身的一种方式:人经由城邦、经由政治才能真正成为"人",在城邦共同体之外的生活则是卑贱的"非人"的生活。

Compared with the long history of united reign,the ancient Greek city-state shows as a political system which is made up of citizen. From a profound point of view,however,this community represents itself more as a way to understand human beings than a political constitution system. For it demonstrates that man could be a man only when he is as one of the community members in such a political way,or,he is just a non-man being outside this group. In this way,it is associated with the theory of human nature.
