建设“丝绸之路经济带”和“21世纪海上丝绸之路”是党中央在全球形势深刻变化背景下做出的重大战略决策。“一带一路”倡议实施中首先面临的就是交通的互联互通，而交通建设要依靠教育。“一带一路”给交通高职教育带来了前所未有的重大机遇，但同时由于交通高职培养的国际化复合型人才的短缺和办学水平薄弱等问题，给交通高职教育带来前所未有的挑战。因此，交通高职院校要内外兼修履行“一带一路”倡议下人才培养的责任与使命。
