The Negativity of Western Metaphysics and the Divide between Being and Saying:Giorgio Agamben on the Voice

与德里达对"语音中心主义"的批判针锋相对,阿甘本认为,西方形而上学奠基在文字之上。对阿甘本来说,形而上学就是对语言的体验,形而上学与语言学在结构上严格对应,命运也息息相关,而文字作为语音移除之后的产物使西方形而上学始终被一种否定性浸染。更进一步说,也正是在语音中,显示出存在与言说、自然与文化之间的断裂,显示出主体建构与人类发生的偶然性。

In opposition to Jacque Derrida ＇s critique of phono-centrism,in Giorgio Agamben ＇s view,Western metaphysics is founded on the written words. According to Agamben,metahysics is an experience of language,and linguistics and metaphysics are structurally similar,tied in a common destiny. In this light,written words can be equated with the removal of the voice,and from the latter originated the negativity of Western metaphysics. Furthermore,it＇s in the voice that the divide between being and saying,the contingency of anthropo-genesis and subjectivation get manifested.
