体育与宗教本是同源,宗教在其发展过程中孕育着体育,并庇佑着体育生存繁衍。由于科技的发达,宗教的时代局限性逐渐显露,其信仰的精神立论经不起科学的推敲,宗教之间的信仰归属等冲突已经造成了对人类的困扰,宗教的衰弱趋势日渐明显。体育是符合现代社会发展的文化形态,对世界各国家民族之间的团结以及对个体的身心体验都有不可替代的作用,体育的特殊价值必将使之成为人类共同崇仰的崭新信仰方式。

Physical education and religion are of the same origin. In the development process, religion bred and protected the existence and development of physical education. However, religion＇ s historical limitations gradually emerged owing to the development of science. Its spiritual argumentation cannot afford scientific scrutiny. The conflict between different religious faith and community has caused serious problems to humans. It is apparent that religions are declining. Physical education is a cultural form which accords with the modern society. It plays an irreplaceable role in the unity among the nations of the world and the individuals＇ physical and psychological experience. The special value of physical education surely will be the common new faith of all humanity.
