This paper examines "OK"via its whole distribution, word class and combining distribution in terms of American corpora( COCA,COHA and SOAP) from synchronic and diachronic perspectives. The results reveal that"OK"is a typical oral representation, most used in spoken language while least used in academic writing, and it flourishes after 1950. As for the word class,it's employed most frequently as an adjective,of which the representation [Be]OK is the most prominent and, moreover,it enters the fast track after1980 s. As to its combination( to the right, left and punctuation),"OK"is chiefly used in spoken language, combined with adverbs, and it also rises quickly after 1980 s in size and frequency, with more colons, commas, periods, but few exclamations. Finally, the paper makes a comparison among different native speakers of English countries in the light of the corpus Glo Wb E,and the result shows that the combination with adverbs is most appreciated, always led by American English.
