A Brief Discussion on the Discipline and Fantasy of Binding Art

装帧设计的"纪律"与"狂想"是相互对立、相互排斥、相互矛盾的一个事物的两个方面。它们既对立又相互联系、既排斥又相互依赖、既矛盾又和谐地统一在一个设计作品中,纪律是狂想自由的纪律,狂想是有纪律的狂想,两者都不能脱离书籍的精神文化内容而存在。

The ＂discipline＂ and ＂fantasy＂ of binding design are two aspects which are mutually antagonistic, mutually exclusive and mutually contradictory. They are both antagonistic and interrelated, both repulsive and interdependent, both contradictory and harmonious. In a design work, discipline is the rule of free fantasy, while fantasy is discipline-based, and both can not be divorced from the spiritual and cultural content of books.
