论书信体散文汉英翻译中的“关系”处理——以《亲爱的安德烈》的汉英翻译为例

On the disposition of "relationships" in the translation of epistolary prose——A case study on Dear Andreas

《亲爱的安德烈》是一部书信体散文,其文体特点使相关汉英翻译实践面临三大难题的挑战,即:风格对等的实现、文化负载词的转化和结构不完整句的处理。处理好和谐说所阐释的五类关系可为化解上述难题提供理论借鉴。这五类关系包括:译者与译文的关系、译者与原文的关系、译文与原文的关系、目标文本与读者之间的关系、目标文本之间的关系。从和谐说出发,译者需充分调动自身创造力,从宏观角度把握翻译的整体性操作,着眼于翻译过程中上述关系之间和谐与呼应的达成。

As an epistolary prose, Dear Andreas is a collection of 36 letters between a mother and her son. The translator is confrontedwith three major problems during the translation process ： the achievement of the stylistic equivalence, the translation of culture - loadedwords and the translation of the structurally incomplete sentences. In this paper, the authors try to solve these problems according toHarmony theory that the translator should collect and analyze five groups of elements, namely, the relationship between the translatorand the target text, between the original text and the translator, between the original text and the target text, between the target text andits readers, and the relationship inside the target text, all of which must be put into a harmonious relationship. By taking a broader per-spective, the translator shall give play to his creativity to achieve a good translation.
