摘要
"之所以"是现代汉语书面语中使用非常频繁的一个功能词。在现代汉语传统语法研究中,"之所以"所引导的小句被看作"结果分句","之所以"被看成是与"因为""所以"一样的"连词"。文章对这一观点提出质疑,认为"之所以S"其实充当主语、话题和定语等句内成分,而不是具有句法独立性的分句,与此相应,"之所以"是一个溯因名词小句标记,具有篇章回指功能,而非连接分句的"连词"。现代汉语中"之所以"的功能是对古代汉语"之所以"功能的继承与发展。
"zhīsuǒyǐ(之所以)" is a high-frequency function word in written Chinese.Traditionally,"zhīsuǒyǐ(之所以)" clause is considered as an apodosis clause,and "zhīsuǒyǐ(之所以)" a conjunction like"yīnwéi(因为)" and "suǒyǐ(所以)".This paper firstly questions the view that "zhīsuǒyǐ(之所以)" is a conjunction.Then it argues that "zhīsuǒyǐ(之所以)" clause actually acts.as a subject, a topic or an attributive of a sentence instead of an independent clause. And lastly the paper points out that in modern Chinese "zhisuǒyǐ(之所以)" is multifunctional. It functions as a nominal clause marker and an anaphora marker instead of conjunction. The function of "zhīsuǒyǐ(之所以)" in modern Chinese is the inheritance and development of ancient Chinese.
