Independence and Self-reliance:A Vision of Chinese Linguistics

当代中国文化学术(含语言学)的严重问题是,存在多种崇洋现象:崇洋媚外,甚至挟洋自重;食洋不化;洋教条主义有蔓延之势。凡此,皆有害于我中华民族的复兴大业,亟需荡涤。无论往史的、当前的社会实践,都呼唤我们作理论概括,笔者曾于2005年从中国古史的研究结合现实提出"国力学术相应律",如今从美国早期历史的研究中获"悟",新提出"文化学术后发论"。当今我国国力大增之际,正是文化学术大"发"之时,中国语言学人应该自励自勉,坚持"不崇洋,不排外"的"双不方针",用对祖国的激情把崇洋的激情驱逐出去,自强,自立;崛起,强盛;进而实现中国语言学像珠峰一般屹立于世界学术之林的愿景。

A serious problem facing present Chinese cultural and academic fields, including linguistics, is worshiping everything foreign, which is harmful to the rejuvenation of Chinese nation and should be demolished. The author proposed a "correlation between national power and academic influence" in 2005.Presently, the author has got an inspiration from the study of early American history and newly proposed a "theory of postponed cultural and academic prosperity". China's national power has increased greatly and it is high time for us to achieve cultural and academic prosperity. Chinese linguists should be independent and self-reliant,and stick to the principle of neither worshiping nor opposing everything foreign. Thus, the vision that Chinese linguistics is strongly positioned in world linguistics can be realized.
