"九叶诗派"得名于1981年江苏人民出版社出版的九人诗选《九叶集》,带着有被文学史追认的性质,又因为他们的诗歌主要发表于1940年代中后期的《中国新诗》和《诗创造》等刊物,又被称为"中国新诗派"。还有一种说法,这群青年诗人大都就读于战时的西南联大,又被叫做"西南联大诗人群"。"九叶诗派"是一群"自觉的现代主义者",在创作中追求现实主义与现代主义的结合,其中以穆旦的诗歌成就最为显著。穆旦的《旗》带有战时写作的特征,凸显出一种伟岸的民族精神和壮阔的时代图景,耐人咀嚼。辛笛、陈敬容、唐祈的诗歌代表作亦各有特色。

Jiuye Poets Group originated from the poetry anthology ＂ Jiuye Collection ＂ published by Jiangsu people＇ s press in 1981, which in a sense means the recognition of literature history. Their poems are mainly published in ＂ Chinese New Poetry ＂, ＂ Poetry to Create ＂ and other publications in the mid - late period of 1940＇ s, so they were also known as ＂ The new poetic school ＂. Another story goes that these young poets are called ＂poets group of Southwestern United University ＂ due to their studying experience at the university during wartime. Jiuye poets are a group of ＂conscious modernists ＂, pursuing the combination of realism and modernism in their works. As a member of this group, Mudan has made the most remarkable achievements. His poem ＂ The Flag ＂, with distinct writing features of wartime, highlights a great national spirit and a magnificent picture of the time, which is worth deep exploration. Other members, such as Xindi, Chen Jingrong, Tangqi, have all got their representative poems of prominent personality.
