《与山巨源绝交书》作年考辨

An Investigation on the Writing Time Of “The Letter of Breaking the Relations with Shan Juyuan”

关于《与山巨源绝交书》的作年,历代学者都有讨论,但无定论。今挖掘《晋书》《世说新语》等书中的相关史料,参考山涛、嵇绍等与嵇康关系密切之人的生平履历,梳理《绝交书》文本,对前人的观点进行辨证及补充,可以证得:山涛于景元二年(公元261年)任吏部郎时,欲举康自代,但事未成;景元四年(公元265年)初迁从事中郎时,再次有意举荐嵇康,嵇康方作此书。

The researches of all previous dynasties had different understandings on the writing time about Ji Kang＇ s ＂The Letter of Breaking the Relations with Shan Juyuan＂. But those debates have been inconclusive. Digging up the historical records from ＂History of the Jin Dynasty＂ and ＂A New Account of Tales of the World＂, consuiting life experience of Ji Kang＇ s friends and relatives, such as Shan Tao and Ji Shao, combing the text logic of the letter, complementing the previous studies, I finally concluded that Shan Tao recommended Ji Kang in the second year of Jing Yuan period, when he had to be an official of the Ministry ; and when he was about to be an adviser of the great general in the forth year of Jing Yuan period, he commended Ji Kang once again.
