The application of air twister is an important way to produce knotless yam in nylon 66 tire cord production. The working principle and service situation of air twister for as-spun fiber were introduced. The technological keys to apply air twister for as-spun fiber were discussed. The breaking strength of the yarn joint could be increased through the process optimization. The results showed that the technological key for air twister application was to properly control the compressed air pressure according to the fiber type, choose the high-quality as-spun fiber, vertically hold the handheld twister, and keep the routine maintenance of the major equipment parts ; the breaking strength of the yarn joint was improved and the qualified rate of joint was increased from 80% to 95% through the process optimization and operation regulation.
