On Sept.29, The Grace Vineyard release a news about the listing plan in Hong Kong, that was a great exciting news and encouragement to Chinese boutique wineries. However, October 16, Cofco China Food Co., Ltd. Announce that they will sell all the wine category business and other non-beverage business(4 investment holding companies), the Great Wall brand, including wine business stripping... For a time, the various interpretations, reports and discussions comes out. And Cofco admits: "The industry is expected to continue to grow slowly over the next 3-5 years due to intensified competition in the domestic wine sector." Data show that the production of Chinese wine in the first half of 2017 fell 10%, imported wine increased 12%... Regarding to the journalist’s question about this issue, Judy Chan said: "The situation of Chinese wine is very difficult! The market for imported wines will continue to grow in the future, and Chinese wines will have their own seats, but facing many challenges. So we need to keep asking ourselves, why do consumers drink our wines? If you can’t find the answer, you can’t find a way out." Taking these questions, we invited Judy Chan from Grace Vineyard, Emma Gao from Silver Highlands, Xiaoyan MANNI from Clovitis, and more of those industry spectators together to go through the Chinese wine industry, asking ourselves, to find our own competitiveness and the way out."
