严复翻译风格及策略研究

The Study on Yan Fu's Translation Style and Strategy

严复是我国近代杰出的翻译家之一。他的"信、达、雅"翻译理论经历了历史和实践的考验。然而,严复的翻译思想不仅仅是"信、达、雅"。本文通过详细而深入的分析以及大量的例证发现:在翻译风格上,严复延续了先秦文体的词法句法结构,吸取了佛经和《史记》文体中的一些精华,还继承了桐城派古文的"雅洁"特色。在翻译策略上,严复通过删除章节、添加评论和改写译文等方法优化并传播了源语文本中的思想,增强了译本的可读性。本研究可以拓宽大家对严复翻译思想的认识,同时也对中国传统翻译理论的研究尽了一份力量。

Yan Fu is one of the most outstanding translators in modern times. His translation theories of ＂faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance＂ have undergone the test of history and practice. However, Yah Fu＇s translation thought is not merely ＂faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance＂. Through detailed and in-depth analysis, as well as a large number of examples, this paper finds out： in translation style, Yah Fu continues the lexical and syntactic structure of the pre-Qin style, absorbs some essences in the style of the Buddhist scriptures and historical records and inherits Tongcheng prose＇s ＂elegant＂ characteristic. In translation strategies, Yan Fu optimizes and propagates the ideas in the source text by deleting chapters, adding comments and rewriting translations, thus enhancing the readability of the translated text. This study can broaden our understanding of Yan Fu＇s translation theory, and also contribute to the study of Chinese traditional translation theories.
