Characteristics and corresponding analysis of multiple corresponding authorship in medical journals

【目的】国内外医学期刊论文署名多通信作者的情况日益增多,但是学术界对于多通信作者署名的统一要求和规范较少。寻找多通信作者署名特点,探讨其带来的影响,提出规范多通信作者署名的建议。【方法】通过查阅49篇多通信作者论文,观察整理通信作者的署名位置、标注形式和文字表述等特点。【结果】多通信作者署名位置不统一,以末2位多见,标注形式和文字表述多种多样,不利于数据库检索、论文管理和科研评价。【结论】统一、规范多通信作者的署名要求有其必要性,此举有利于数据库设置检索条件,提高科研检索准确性,便于实施科研论文管理和科研评价。

[Purposes]Multiple corresponding authors become increasingly common in domestic and foreign medical journals,but there are few unified requirements and norms for authorship of multiple corresponding authors in academia. This paper aims to identify the characteristics of multiple corresponding authors in medical journals,explore the corresponding effects,and provide suggestions on improving multiple corresponding authorship. [Methods]Manual searches were conducted to look for original research articles with multiple corresponding authors published in 2016 in medical journals. Then 49 articles were selected randomly to identify the characteristics of by-line position,marking form,and statement of multiple corresponding authors. [Findings]The last two authors listed in the by-line are most common to receive co-corresponding authors,and co-corresponding authors could be listed in nearly every position in the by-line. Moreover,marking forms and statements of co-corresponding authors are also various.And these varieties would cause troubles for literature retrieval, paper management, and scientific research evaluation.[Conclusions]It is necessary to conform to unified requirements for multiple corresponding authors,which is helpful to improve literature retrieval accuracy,manage literatures,and evaluate scientific research.
