南朝《幽明录》"刘晨阮肇"爱情故事中出现了"芜菁叶",这是最早的"红叶爱情"的雏形。到唐代《游仙窟》故事中出现了"香果琼枝",这样从"绿叶传情"就一步步发展到唐代的"红叶题诗"。
