Known as a fairy-tale godmother,Angela Carter 's fame is greatly indebted to her rewriting of the fairy-tale. "The Bloody Chamber"is adapted on the basis of "Blue Beard"written by Charles Perrault,a French fairy-tale master. The birth of the new female "I"is analyzed through closely reading the text,namely,female body as a new medium to voice a woman's inner world,female spirit as a new impetus to seek a woman's progress,female utterance as a new means to pursue woman's independence.
