日华学会编民国时期“中国留日学生名簿”的史料价值

Historical Value of the Chinese Students Roster from the Institute of Japan and China during the Period of the Republic of China

由日华学会编辑的18册"中国留日学生名簿"(1927-1944年度),具有重要的史料价值,其特点是根据1927-1944年度日本各校提交的中国留学生名单资料汇总而成,每个留学生的基本数据一目了然。此外,在该名簿的各种分类统计表中,一部分是数年或数十年的累计数据,可以称之为"准第一手资料"。这套留学生名簿尽管可信度很高,但是也不免有疏漏和统计错误。因国内时局的变化、不平等条约的签订和日本发动侵华战争等原因,中国留学生人数在不同的时期有大幅度的增减。为此,本文对这套留学生名簿进行了全面整理,完成了对实际在校就读留日学生总数的统计。

The 18 rosters of the Chinese students studying in Japan between 1927 and 1944 from the Institute of Japan and China have significant historical values.These rosters are based on the lists submitted by each school per year,with a clear display of the basic data of each oversea student.In addition,some of the classified and statistical tables in the rosters contain years or even decades of accumulated data,which could be called ＂quasi-first-hand information＂.Though the rosters are quite reliable,they still contain some inevitable omissions or statistical errors.Due to changes in the domestic politics,the signing of unequal treaties,Japan＇s invasion of China and other reasons,the number of oversea students during different periods might increase or decrease substantially.Therefore,by summarizing the rosters of oversea students from the Institute of Japan and China,the paper forms a complete table including the students with or without duplicate school rolls（table 1）for the first time,and conducts a census of the total number of the students who actually studied in Japan（table 2）.For the time being,the data of these two tables should be the most approximate to the actual number.
