On the Theoretical Basis of the Communist Party Members' Ideals and Beliefs

人的本质是社会关系的总和,人若没有社会理想,就无法维持共同体的存在,更无法实现自由而全面发展的天性。共产主义社会的基本原则是每一个人的自由而全面的发展,它契合了人的本质要求,反映了人实现自我解放的社会规律,这是共产主义理想信念的理论逻辑。共产主义实现是一个过程,在当代中国,共产党人坚定中国特色社会主义理想信念并为之而奋斗,就是在脚踏实地地推进人的自由而全面的发展,就是在向共产主义方向前进。

The nature of human beings is the sum of all social relations. As a result, human community cannot persist if people have no social ideals, let alone to fulfill the instinct of free yet comprehensive development. The fundamental principle of communist society is that each and every person can enjoy free yet comprehensive development which corresponds to the basic requirements of human beings and reflects the social law that man seeks self-liberation. This is the theoretical logic of the ideals and beliefs of Communism. The realization of communism is a long process. In current China, each and every member of the Communist Party of China firmly upholds the ideal and belief in socialism with Chinese characteristics and works hard for its realization, which is just the right way to promote the free yet comprehensive development of human beings, marching steadily towards Communism.
