清末“新政”时期民营出版机构教科书编辑述论

A Study on Textbook Editing of Private Publishing Institutions During the "New Deal" Period of the Late Qing Dynasty

清末新教育运动实施中教科书极其匮乏,清政府成立学部编译图书局等部编机构,拟订编审制规章,同时更鼓励民间及个体共襄其事。商务印书馆、文明书局、会文学社等一批民营出版机构参与教科书的编辑及出版,推出了一批有代表性的教科书,从而在教科书史上占据重要地位,并在推动近代教育发展的同时,促进了近代社会思想启蒙及观念的解放。

For textbooks were extremely scarce in the implementation of the new education movement inthe late Qing Dynasty, the Qing government set up some agencies to formulate the compilatory regulation andencourage the private-owned and individual publishing institutions to do the work together. Commercial Press,Civilization Press, Huiwen Society and a number of other private-owned publishing institutions joined in thetextbooks＇ editing and publishing. They launcheda number of representative textbooks and accumulated valuable experience, which occupied an important position in textbooks in history. Meanwhile it promoted the development of modern education and the enlightenment and liberation of modern social ideas.
