Dysfunction of micturition caused by spinal cord injury is the major cause of late death in patients with spinal cord injury, which seriously affects the survival and quality of life of patients. Intermittent catheterization is the commonly used nursing method. This article reviewed 4 aspects including intermittent catheterization, intermittent catheterization time, intermittent catheterization methods and intermittent catheterization care, which provided guidance for clinical intermittent catheterization.
