摘要
1781年,英国"宗"号贩奴船船长为牟取保险赔偿金下令把150名非洲黑奴扔进大西洋。当代非裔加拿大女作家马琳·诺比斯·菲利普的长诗《宗!》用匠心独运的形式策略重述"宗"船大屠杀事件,为死去的黑奴辩护,为逝去的祖先命名。本文从空间布局、声景塑造、排版印刷三方面分析《宗!》的形式策略,从艺术创新和政治书写两方面探寻菲利普的创作动因,解读其复杂多变的实验性文本所蕴含的历史意义和政治诉求。
In 1781, to collect insurance monies, the captain of the British slave ship Zong ordered to throw 1.50 African slaves overboard into the Atlantic. M. NourbeSe Philip, a contemporary Afro-Canadian writer, retells Zong massacre in her book-length poem Zong! with her inventive artifices of the form to defend the dead slaves and name the lost ancestors. This paper attempts to analyze Philip' s artifices of the form in such 3 aspects as space arrangement, soundscape creation and typographic design, to explore Philip' s composing motivation in such 2 aspects as artistic originality and political writing, and to interpret the historical significance and political aspiration of the complex experimental text of Zong].
