The general layout,performance parameters,locomotive test and operation condition of CDD6 A1 diesel-electric locomotive for meter gauge were described.The characteristics of this locomotive,such as modular design,low-emission power device,new-type dynamic braking device,single fan cooling device,low-cost auxiliary AC transmission system and large-torque traction motor for narrow gauge locomotive,were described in details.
