Cultural Choice of The World-class Universities with Distinct Chinese Characteristic

中国特色的世界一流大学是我国"双一流"大学建设的旨归,理性的文化选择是"世界一流大学"走向中国和"中国特色世界一流大学"走向世界的关键。但由于西方话语体系下的文化依附的窘境、跨文化交流中文化霸权的困扰以及我国本土大学文化底蕴不深厚等阻抗因素的存在,"中国特色世界一流"大学建设必须在保守与创新的文化选择中不断提升文化自觉;在求同存异的文化选择中持续增强文化自信;在借鉴与超越的文化选择中最终实现文化自强。

The world-class universities with distinct Chinese characteristic are the objectives of constructing double world-class universities. Rational cultural choice is the master key for world-class universities to go towards China as well as for world-class universities with distinct Chinese characteristic to reach out to the world. However, there exist lots of retarding factors, such as the awkward situation of cultural attachment under the western discourse system, the perplex of culture hegemony in the process of cross-cultural communication, and the weakness of local university cultural deposits. Due to these factors, Chinese universities should continuously improve cultural self- consciousness in the cuhural choice of conservation and innovation. They should persistently enhance cultural self- confidence in the process of choosing a culture, which accepts differences and respects our common needs. In addition, they should eventually achieve cultural serf-improvement in the process of choosing a culture for reference and transcendence.
