学术语料驱动下的It…that-clause评述序列研究

摘要 It…that-clause是学术文本中高频复现的句级半固定词汇-语法型式,是学术社团评价意义表达的重要手段。以语料库驱动的方法,探讨专家学术文本中It…that-clause多元评述序列在型式、语义、语用层面上的共选行为发现,It…that-clause的四元与五元评述序列在学术文本中呈优势分布,其四大范畴化评述型式聚焦研究活动的不同侧面,突显论证过程的客观性、严密性与研究结论的科学性、有效性。It…that-clause序列所体现的多层面共选关系反映了语言形式、意义与语用之间的统一。在小句级阶上考察It…that-clause评述序列,对培养学习者的读者意识与评鉴意识具有一定的借鉴意义。 It…that-clause, a semi-fixed lexical-grammatical pattern frequently used in academic texts, is generally accepted as a vital device of evaluation in academic community. This paper, with a corpus-driven approach,explored the co-selection of It…that-clause sequence at the levels of linguistic form, meaning and function within experts’ academic texts. It is found that four-word and five-word It … that-clause sequences are distributed dominantly in academic texts, and four categorized It … that-clause patterns are frequently employed to focus on diverse facets of a research activity, highlighting the objectivity and rigor of academic argumentation as well as the scientificity and validity of research conclusion. The multidimensional co-selection embodied in It … that-clause sequences demonstrates that language form, meaning and function are closely integrated. Probing into It … that-clause sequences at the sentence level has some pedagogical implications on the cultivation of students ’ reader awareness and evaluation awareness.
