This paper focuses on the evolution of tea from drinking habits to the formation of tea-art and culture, which is closely related to the value of traditional Chinese culture. Based on the Habit Theory, tea-art has finally established as a kind of cultural imagery lifestyle of tea drinking after thousands of years of practice and accumulation, through absorbing the edible and medicinal basics of tea, and taking advantage of people＇s drinking habit. This cultural image finds expressions in the forms of symbolization, ritualization, and aesthetics of the tea-art, which also shows the value orientation towards virtue, utilization, and well-being. Based on integration of value and form, tea-art has been used in social practice to promote the prosperity of tea culture, thus reflecting on its history of development is beneficial to understanding modem tea culture system.
