Zhu Jieqin （朱杰勤）, a renowned historian in modern China, published an abundance of works covering a wide range of topics. He was especially fruitful in studies of the history of China＇s foreign relations. More than a successor of Chinese traditional cultural and spirit, he was flexible in adopting changing knowledge and ideas. His scholarship covered ancient and modem periods, China and the west, making him a master with a great academic reputation.
