真正属于语义学的语境敏感性应该是由语句成分中意义要素决定的性质,且由语义学的语境敏感性概念表达这种性质。只有包含卡普兰涵义的索引性表达式才会具有这个性质,因为此类表达式在其涵义中规定了语义解释与语境的强制性关联。在此基础上可知:(1)索引词主义者所假设的隐藏变元不具有卡普兰索引词的那种涵义,即使隐藏变元确实存在,也并不必然引起语境敏感性,而通常只是引起某种语义的不完全性;(2)语境主义者所关注的语境敏感现象,实际上是属于语用学的现象,在不假设最小命题的前提下有效地解释这个现象,将迫使语境主义者接受一种命题不可被语句完全表达的观点。

The primary aim of this paper is to come to the conclusion that only a linguistic expression with a character, suggested by D. Kaplan, which is represented by a function from contextto content, is really semantically context-sensitive. Based on the conceptual clarification, we attemptto argue:(1) sentences that are supposed by Indexicalists to contain hidden variables are at best se-mantically incomplete, but not semantically context-sensitive,(2) while the context-sensitivity that mo-tivates Contextualists to propose their theory is triggered by a pragmatic need, any coherent explanation of the sensitivity without minimal proposition would force Contextualists into taking a view that aproposition or what is said in a context cannot be completely expressed by any sentence, i.e. an inef-fability view.
