In this interview made in 2005, the Russain filmmaker Alexander Sokurov analyzes, with his personal artistic experience, the characthristics of American cinema and its differences from the European cinema, and talks about his particular points of view on the nature of art, he considers that the montage, the proper language of cinema, comes in fact from the literature, and the discovery of the montage of attraction leads effectually the cinema into the commodity, and the nature of cinema is to creat"another life", which depends directly on human intuition, to invent the unknown grammar according to the alphabet of cinema.
