河南武陟出土西汉铜镶玉璧

Western Han Dynasty Copper Bi with a Jade Inset Unearthed in Wuzhi,Henan Province

2012年,河南武陟县木城中学运动场工地出土一件铜镶玉龙凤纹璧,同出有青黄釉小陶壶和"日月同辉·汉"铭文灰陶罐两件器物。铜镶玉璧由镂空玉龙、乳丁纹铜璧和凤纹铜耳三部分组成,铜璧为铸造而成,其造型、纹饰与战国时期的玉璧造型、纹饰相同或近似,透雕玉龙的造型有战国时期及西汉早期的风格。灰陶罐的铭文字体呈现出篆书的风格,又有隶书的部分特点。其中,"汉"字的三点水上部与西汉五铢钱的"朱"字头上部相同,为方折,是西汉时期的风格,"汉"字铭文为器物的断代提供了可靠的依据。黄青釉小陶壶造型呈现西汉晚期特点。铜镶玉龙凤纹璧是研究汉代玉雕艺术和金属铸造技术不可多得的实物资料,具有较为重要的科学与艺术价值。

In April 2012, a copper bi[壁] with a jade inset was unearthed from a high school stadium in Wuzhi county, Henan province together with a yellowish green glazed pottery pot and a grey pottery jar with the inscription ＂日月同辉·汉＂. The bi is composed of three parts： a carved openwork jade dragon inset, a copper bi with protrusion patterns and phoenix-shaped copper ears. The bi is casted with copper; its shape and patterns are close to those of the jade bi in the Warring States period. The shape of the jade dragon corresponds with the style in the Warring States period and early Western Han. In general, the copper bi is a classic artwork with appropriate distribution of patterns and full decoration. The inscriptions on the grey pottery jar are in the zhuan style with some li characteristics as well. The inscription＂汉＂ suggests a Western Han style for its upper part is the same as that of ＂朱＂ in wuzhu[五铢] coin of the Western Han dynasty, which provides a solid evidence for the dating of objects. The style of the yellowish green glazed pottery pot accords with that of the late Western Han. Therefore, with a considerable scientific and artistic value, this copper bi is an important historical material to study the jade carving and metal casting technique of the Han dynasty.
