Objective To investigate the status of health quotient(HQ) and cognitive level of cardiovascular disease of 300 residents in 2 communities and analyze their correlation. Methods Three hundred cases of residents of 2 communities in Cixi city were included as research objects by convenient sampling method and they were investigated by the health quotient questionnaire and cardiovascular disease related knowledge questionnaire. Pearson correlation analysis was used to study the correlation between HQ and the cognitive level of cardiovascular disease. Results The total score of HQ among 300 residents was 6.84±1.15, and the score of 236 cases(78.7%) was 6 or higher. The highest and lowest score of 5 dimensions of the health quotient questionnaire were life skill7.24±0.97 and health knowledge,6.32±1.30 respectively. The total score of cardiovascular disease related knowledge was 68.19 ±9.70,and the score of 72 cases(24.0%) was 16 or higher. The highest and lowest score of 5 scopes of knowledge were life skill 16.15 ±2.60 and lifestyle 10.38±2.84 respectively. There was positive correlation between HQ and the cognition on cardiovascular disease(r=0.651,P0.001). Conclusion HQ of the research objects is ideal but their understanding of health knowledge relatively weak and their cognition on cardiovascular disease should be further improved. The higher HQ index, the better cognition on cardiovascular disease.
