From field perspective of identity, Louise Erdrich depicts Native Americans＇ revere for land, which lies in their identity construction in Love Medicine. In portraying different fates of protagonists, the novel presents the ways that Native American constructs and voices their identity in the very surviving predicament. In the sense of construction, they keep harmonious relationship with nature and other creatures and practice harmonious value of nature, which has been passed down for thousands of years. The land, in turn, nurtures their culture and their spiritual preference of constructing identity in the recognition of the field.
