韩愈的鬼神观

Han Yu's View points on Ghosts and Gods

受孔夫子影响,儒者大都遵循"敬鬼神而远之"的传统,对鬼神之事论及者较少。但一直以孔孟传人自居的韩愈却作《原鬼》,以明鬼。不仅如此,他对"神仙"也是分外虔诚,撰写了了大量祭神文。虽然说鬼信神,韩愈却对人们修炼成仙的事情表示强烈的反对。韩愈对鬼神的看法,看似有些不合情理,实际上却体现了他力图融合其它学说发展儒学的初衷。

It was Confucius＇ opinion that human being should show some respects for ghosts and gods and keep away from them,which influenced most of the Confucianists. Han Yu who claimed he was a faithful follower of Confucius and Mencius wrote an articleon ghosts. Furthermore, Han Yu had faith in god, and wrote something to extol gods. But he criticized the people who want to becomeimmortal. Han Yu＇s viewpoints seemed conflicting. In fact, what he planned was just to do something for the development of Confu-cianism.
