Work refers to the process by which workers convertmeans of production into means of subsistence throughprofessional labor in order to meet the needs of people to surviveand to continue their cause of social development. As the processof sublimation of work, a career is work-based professional laborincluding personal accomplishments and professional well-beingand witha certain goal, scale and system. Using love asametaphor for work, this paper explores the various processesthrough which work is transformed intoa career.
