Comparison of Soft Power between China and Japan in Terms of the Elements of Soft Power

在西方国际关系理论中,权力论一直居于一个核心的地位。新自由主义学派的代表人物约瑟夫·奈提出了软实力的概念,对于冷战后的国际关系研究带来了一定的影响。中国和日本作为世界上两个大国,其两国之间软实力的对比对中日两国之间的发展都有不容忽视的战略性意义。软实力要素中的各国文化、对外政策以及该国的国家形象,对衡量一国软实力强弱有着重要的影响。

In the Western theory of international relations, power theory has always been in a core position. Joseph Nye, the representative of Neo-liberal school, put forward the concept of soft power which had a certain infuence on the study of international relations after the Cold War. As the two major countries in the world, the comparison between the soft powers of China and Japan has a strategic signifcance that cannot be neglected. The national culture, foreign policy and the country image of the soft power have important infuence on the strength of the soft power of a country.
