Founded in 1939, the Graduate School of Education (GSE), University of California, Los Angeles has been developed from a teacher training college into one of the Best American Graduate Schools, which is famous for its teacher training and educational research. The development of GSE, UCLA is the result of its fulfilling American higher education policies and accommodating to the reforms and strategies of teacher' s professional education in the US, and it also has much to do with the excellent leadership of those who have successively served as deans of GSE.
