An Account to Schellekens' Thought of Aesthetics and Morality

英国现代哲学家舍勒肯斯为了论证维特根斯坦"美和道德其实就是同一回事"这一哲学命题,对从柏拉图以来西方哲学家对美与道德关联的论述进行了批判性研究。他认为,美与道德确实存在普遍关联,对艺术美的追求不但能够帮助产生道德认知,而且通过审美敏悟能力对道德敏悟能力的影响,使美最终成为道德的形式象征。

For the verification of the philosophical proposition of Ludwig Wittgenstein that beauty is literally thesame as morality, the English modern philosopher Elizabeth Schellekens critically studied the arguments of westernphilosophers since Plato on universal relevance between beauty and morality. H e recognized the common interrelationwhich helped construct the cognition of morality by the pursuit of artistic beauty, which furthermore was shaped as the externalsymbol of morals through the influence of aesthetic sensibility upon moral sensibility.
