On SHEN Congwen's Creation from a Modernity Perspective

现代性是当今人文学科研究领域的一个重要学术概念。沈从文是中国现代文学史上非常独特的一位作家,他的思想构成因素比较复杂。他深受楚文化影响,同时又受到道家文化和现代性因素的影响,凡此种种,造成沈从文在各种不同乃至矛盾的思想中无法抉择,最后在边缘或夹缝中寻找属于自己的世界。正因为如此,在现代视野中审视沈从文的创作,有助于更好认识其创作与思想。

Modernity is an important academic concept in the field of humanity research.And SHEN Congwen was a very special writer in the modern history of Chinese literature.His thought had complicated factors.He was deeply influenced by Chu Culture as well as Taoism and modernity factors.All these resulted in his dilemma among various and even contradictory thoughts and in search for his own world at the edge or in crack.Accordingly,the examination of SHEN’s creation from a modernity perspective is of great help for us to have better understanding of his writing and thought.
